Marino Custom Woodworks is a family-run business in rural, southern Wisconsin. The idea of starting this business came naturally as Carl Marino — the designer and builder — has spent his life using design to solve problems and then bring them to life with his hands. Design and technique are skills he honed while earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts, and he developed his woodworking skills while working in mill shops and custom cabinet companies.
Carl thoughtfully creates each piece that he makes, considering balance, materials and function. To add dimension to his pieces, he often incorporates metal into his furniture.
We take pride in what we do.
Heirloom techniques.
Each piece we design reflects heirloom techniques that have proven their quality over time. From traditionally sprung seat cushions to hand carved dovetails, we look for the very best way of building a quality piece.
Artist’s eye.
We carefully consider balance, aesthetic and function with each piece we create. The small touches are just important as the overall design, so every corner, line and edge is intentional (yes, we’re perfectionists).
Locally sourced.
Most of the wood used to create our pieces are from trees that are hand-picked by us from local areas. We oversee the milling process and dry the wood ourselves, helping us ensure quality throughout the entire process.
